Established in 2020, Symbiosis Medical College for Women (SMCW) is India’s first exclusive all-women medical college. It is a constituent of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) and is situated on a scenic 350-acre campus in Lavale, Pune. SMCW is attached to the Symbiosis University Hospital & Research Centre (SUHRC), a 900-bed multispecialty facility that serves as a primary training ground for students. The college emphasizes a competency-based curriculum, research-oriented learning, and a focus on creating empathetic, ethical doctors.
Eligibility
Admission to the MBBS program is strictly based on merit through national-level entrance examinations. Admission Universe Admission Universe +1 Gender: Only female candidates are eligible for the undergraduate (MBBS) program. Age: Minimum 17 years on or before 31st December of the admission year. Academic Qualification: Completion of 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or equivalent from a recognized board. Core subjects must include Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English. Minimum Marks (Aggregate in PCB): General Category: 50%. SC/ST/OBC Category: 40%. PwD Category: 45%. Entrance Exam: Mandatory qualification in the NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) conducted by the NTA. Counseling: Candidates must register and participate in the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) centralized counseling process for Deemed Universities.
